Setup Affiliate Link
Affiliates allow the generation of unique links to track sales for various marketing channels and affiliates. Each affiliate will be given a unique URL to track sales.
This can be used to measure ROI on various marketing strategies, track affiliate performance, and digitise industry tickets.
Affiliates can sell tickets via their unique link, and optionally receive commission or perform cash transactions.
To Create an Affiliate Link:
- Select the Event from the Events dashboard.
- Select “Affiliates” from the left menu.
- Select “New Affiliate”.
- Enter in the Code which will be used to create the Affiliate URL.
- Once a code has been created, the affiliate URL will be shown. To generate a shortlink for the Affiliate click “Create short link”. This will condense the affiliate URL to the format http://mtix.me/affiliate.
- Optionally enter a descriptive Name to recognise this particular Affiliate Link.
- Optionally enter an email address that will allow an affiliate user to log into the dashboard and sell tickets through their own affiliate portal. Affiliates can sell for multiple events which will be listed when they log into their Affiliate Dashboard.
- Percentage Commission – Enter the commission that the affiliate will receive on sales through their link. Commissions will be calculated and shown in your affiliate reports.
- Enable cash transactions – If this option is enabled, affiliate users selling through their Affiliate Dashboard, will be able to sell tickets and accept cash as a payment method. Since this means tickets can be issued without online payment, please ensure that you only enable this for trusted affiliates. Cash sales collected by the affiliate will be tracked on the dashboard and can be used to reconcile cash with the affiliate.
- Tick “Disable Affiliate” to deactivate an affiliate link.
To Copy / View the Affiliate URL:
- Once the Affiliate Link has been created, select the third action button
- Select “Copy to Clipboard” to copy the Affiliate URL.
To View Affiliate Link Sales and Commission:
- Once the Affiliate Link has been created select the “Sales” action button next to the relevant link
- Select from the dropdown box to filter All, Online or Cash sales, and view the number of tickets sold by an affiliate
- The summary box below will calculate the total Online and Cash revenue from the affiliate, and will calculate the amount of money that is owed or due to the affiliate, taking into account commissions and cash transactions.
To Settle Affiliate Commission:
- The settlements box allows you to keep track of money received or sent to the affiliate, and will keep a log of previous payments which can also be viewed by the affiliate for transparency.
