Point of Sale Setup

Megatix provides a Point of Sale terminal on both Desktop and Mobile, in order to process gate/door sales on the spot.

To configure Point of Sale for your event:

  • Select “Point of Sale” from the left menu after selecting your event.
  • Scroll down and tick “Enable POS functionality”. This will allow the "Sell Tickets" button to be available in the Megatix Scanning App.
  • If you are accepting cash payments tick “Accept cash payments via the POS app”.
  • If you are using a third party EFTPOS terminal or other payment method, tick “Accept other payment sources via the POS app”.
  • Automatically scan tickets – This will determine if tickets sold at the point of sale will be scanned in and added to the attendance count. Select Never (Suitable if the box office is separate from gates, and tickets are issued), Always (suitable if customer enters venue after paying), or Ask Each Time if you would like the option to choose between the two.
  • Under “Ticket Settings” select the ticket types that you would like to appear within the POS. If you would like to create specific ticket type only applicable via POS, you can create a new ticket type in the "Ticket"S section and ensure “Invisible” is selected so that it does not show up for online purchase.
  • Under “User Settings” you can choose which users will have access to the POS for this event. Please note that users who have full dashboard access to your event cannot be disabled from POS access.
  • Select “Update”.
